APPLICATION GUIDE
Job application autofill, with you in control.
Job application autofill can reduce the repetitive typing in your job search. The useful part is reusing information you already know—your name, contact details and prepared answers—while checking that each answer fits the question on the page.
Prepare a small, accurate profile
Start with your name, current contact information and links you want employers to see. Check that your CV is the right version for the roles you are applying for. For salary, include the currency and whether you mean an annual or hourly amount; a bare number can mean something different on different forms. Leave any answer blank if you need the job description to decide it.
Separate repeatable facts from role-specific answers
Contact information usually needs little rewriting. A statement about why you want this particular role does. Before reusing a motivation answer or cover letter, check the employer’s name, job title and responsibilities. A paragraph written for one company should not silently appear in another company’s application.
Expect differences between employer forms
One form may use a native dropdown, another a custom control, and another a separate page for each question. Labels may look similar while asking different things. An assistant should leave an uncertain question for you, rather than assume two questions mean the same thing. If a form is embedded from another website or asks you to sign in, you may need to complete that step manually.
A quick review before submitting
- Check the role and company at the top of the page.
- Read the populated fields, including existing browser autofill values.
- Complete missing questions and confirm the selected choices.
- Attach the correct CV and any requested documents.
- Read consent statements and choose for yourself.
- Submit on the employer’s page and wait for its confirmation.
Clicking a submit button does not itself prove that an application was received. Look for the employer’s confirmation, and keep any reference it provides.
How ApplySidekick fits
ApplySidekick stores your reusable details locally and offers cloud mode with no download, or an optional Chrome / Edge extension to assist on selected Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby pages. It runs one job at a time, does not click Submit for you, and pauses for unfamiliar questions. It offers up to 15 cloud attempts per day, subject to shared capacity, or 40 total with the extension; the About page explains the allowance. Cloud sessions close after two minutes per job. The fictional sample also needs no download.
Prepare the less predictable part next: your workplace question answers.
