Meet your browser sidekick
Cloud mode works without a download and allows up to 15 daily attempts, subject to shared capacity. Each cloud browser closes after two minutes. This page explains the optional local extension, which raises your total allowance to 40 and fills directly on your device.
Install locally
- Download the extension ZIP and extract it into a folder you will keep.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin Chrome oredge://extensionsin Edge. - Turn on Developer mode. Select “Load unpacked” and choose the extracted folder containing
manifest.json. - Pin ApplySidekick in your browser toolbar. Refresh this workspace.
This is a locally installed V1, not a browser-store listing. Developer mode may be disabled on a managed work device. Firefox, Safari and mobile browsers are not supported by this extension.
Run your shortlist
- Save your details and paste up to 40 supported, unique job URLs.
- Select Local extension, then choose “Prepare applications”. A daily allowance is reserved once for the batch.
- Click the extension icon and choose “Enable sites & start”. Only the supported domains in your batch are requested.
- The first job opens. Click the extension icon for its status. If necessary, open the actual application form, solve the CAPTCHA yourself, or sign in, then choose “Fill this page again”.
- Review the fields, answer unknown questions, attach your CV from your device and submit on the employer’s page.
- In the extension, tick “I saw the employer’s submission confirmation”, then choose “Mark submitted & continue”. Or skip the application.
- Keep the workspace open to confirm the completed batch and release unused allowance. If it was interrupted, use “Recover / confirm batch”.
Supported domains and honest limits
V1 includes host-specific form selection with conservative shared field matching for boards.greenhouse.io, job-boards.greenhouse.io, jobs.lever.co, jobs.eu.lever.co and jobs.ashbyhq.com. This is assisted filling, not certified compatibility with every form on these platforms. Ashby and other custom widgets often need more manual work.
Embedded cross-origin frames, closed shadow DOM, custom dropdowns, unrecognised radio groups, date/number ambiguity and unfamiliar questions are left for you. We do not click Apply, Next or Submit automatically. Redirects to a different origin are not injected. Unknown hosts are marked Unsupported, with a link you can open manually. No remote browser or paid AI API is used.
Work style & personality questions
Save your own answers to the 14 common workplace questions in your profile. The helper can fill recognised text fields, native dropdowns and labelled native radio groups when the saved answer exactly matches an available choice. Nothing is preselected for you; consent choices, unfamiliar assessments and custom controls remain manual.
Why is my CV not attached automatically?
Your CV is stored in this browser so it stays under your control. V1 asks you to use the employer’s file picker. You can download the locally saved CV from the workspace if needed. The helper does not upload it in the background.
Preview and deployment addresses
The packaged helper trusts https://applysidekick.com, https://www.applysidekick.com and local development addresses. If the operator uses a Pages or Workers preview address, they must add that exact address to the extension’s workspace allowlist and reload it. See the deployment README. Never add broad wildcard access to arbitrary websites.
Need to start fresh?
Stop the current batch and let the workspace confirm it before deleting local data. Removing the extension during a batch can lose local progress. The next UTC day starts a new allowance even if a previous reservation was abandoned.
